We can look for jobs in hospitals, clinics, health centers associations, NGOs and even reach out to the local town hall or headquarters of the place in which we are, in order to get information about the options that we can possibly have in that place.

If you’re going to be at a place for a long time, it’s touristic and you know how get around with the language that is spoken there, you can almost be certain that you already have a job as a tour guide. Clearly this job depends on the place and the tourists who get there. But if you’re going to spend a whole season in Nepal, you can be an alpinism guide, or if you’re at the Maldive Islands you should also consider becoming a dive guide, or if you’re at one of Europe’s top cities, you can learn more about the city and show it to the tourists -in fact, there are many companies dedicated to that- or if you are in Australia or Bali you can show tourists the best beaches for surfing, or if you have a thing for the Nordic countries you may even become the Fjords’ next guide! There are many possibilities, it’s only up to you to find them and know how to exploit them for your survival.

  1. Cruise ships

Cruise ships are a great source of work opportunities and you can be traveling on a ship from one place to another. There’s nothing wrong with a cruise, most of the times the time that you spend on a specific place is not enough, even though if you have that adventurous spirit, you will always be able to get to know new places and have many experiences on board of the ship. You can be a broadcast technician, a sound technician, head of production, electrician, casino personnel, masseuse, chef, cook, barman, waiter, janitor, diving instructor, teacher, musician, dancer, entertainment and leisure staff, sports instructor… these are some of the positions that you might find in these huge ships.

  1. WWOOFer (Willing Workers on Organic Farms)

This is another one of the most respected choices of travelers from all over the world, it is about working in organic farms where you usually get accommodation, food, and it’s even possible that you may earn some pocket money. This option might be ideal when you want to get to know a country better, you have a fair amount of time and you don’t know where to begin. Besides, you always end up meeting many people along the way who will give you new travel ideas and it will also help you have conversations in different languages. From picking up aloe vera in the Canary Islands, cabbages in Hawaii, Lavender in the fields of France, or perhaps an Eco Village in California, there are countless possibilities and combinations.

  1. Musician

Musicians have great advantages, even though many people may not agree with this. At any more-or-less touristic place you can make some money, whether performing on the street -where allowed- or going through pubs and restaurants and letting people know you. In fact, if you present your music in a certain way, you may have more options, of course it’s not about carrying a ton of records with you, since there are other alternatives.
