Igloos have always caused curiosity in people who have never experienced being in one, or knowing what it is really like. Enjoying winter surely means accepting it as it is, with snow, ice, and very low temperatures. When you think of the idea of living or spending time in a very cold city, country or town, the first things that will come to your mind, for sure, is to have a warm place, where you can be inside, protected and isolated from the freezing weather outside. Well guess what? Not everybody dreams about a warm house, a warm room or a warm building. It turns out in some very cold places around the world, one of the biggest attractions and special places you can visit, and even spend the night at, are Ice Hotels or hotels made of Ice. Ice Hotels are really amazing places where almost everything is ice cold but even with that premise, people look forward to staying there for a few days and actually enjoy it. Almost everything, from the floors, the walls, chairs, tables and the bars where you can share a drink with friends and family are made out of ice or snow.

The fact that Ice Hotels are mainly made of ice, doesn’t mean you have to freeze yourself while you are there, it’s just part of the experience to adapt your body and eyes to the cold structures that you see around, and also to the comfortable services these hotels are ready to offer you.  Keep always in mind that the main purpose of these hotels is to make your stay as good as possible and that is why the ice and the snow shouldn’t be a problem. It is very common to see Ice hotel rooms with fireplaces and you don’t have to worry about being cold at night because the down beddings and mattresses are normally specially made for 30 below zero.
