Lots of people are constantly traveling around the world. We can see bus stations, airports and trains full of travelers from all corners, but many people do not ask themselves -or do they?- about how those travelers cope with money issues for traveling. In other words, how do they do to travel that much? Many people think that those tourists are either rich or very lucky. On the one hand, truth be told, some of those passengers on the train or airplane are actually wealthy people. Anyhow, they represent just a few of the global amount of tourists. On the other hand, the “very lucky” ones are working travelers, or traveling workers, whatever you prefer to call them. Keep on reading below if you want to learn about the best ways to get the incredible combination of travel, work, and fun. The title for this post says it is possible. The lines to follow, however, will convince you to pack and hit the road.

Join a band or artist as their roadie

If you like going to gigs, you might have seen those assistants of musicians backstage. Charged of testing instruments, microphones, lighting and sound, or even plugging and unplugging stuff! Road crew assistants, better known as roadies, travel a lot with bands. If you allow yourself to dream a little, you can think of travelling with your favorite band from gig to gig, from city to city, and from country to country, all of it getting paid. How difficult is it to get such a job? Just start by looking up the next tours of a band of artist of your like. Next send your CV. There is usually room for a roadie to lend a hand. This experience begins with doing minor roles, and ends up on long roads full of fun.

Offer your services as a tour guide

This might sound obvious when talking about traveling and working. But, what is the fun of it? Have you ever thought of a job that requires you to walk around the landmarks of a city, meeting people every while, and exploring top cities like Rome, Paris or London? This is a great idea if you want to combine traveling with work to have fun. Some tour guides work for museums, natural parks, walking tours, hop-on hop-off city tour buses, and more. You decide where to work. All depends on your interests. If you easily get along with people or have experience with groups, this is the perfect job for you. If you do not know well the city you are in, do not worry. Usually the companies that offer these tours or the museums train you.

Teach your native language to the world: language tutor

Call it English teacher, foreign language assistant, or even personal language tutor, language teachers are wanted everywhere. Perhaps this is the most popular way of traveling while working or vice versa, but it has actually reached such popularity among travelers because of the easiness of getting it. Basically almost every country has English in their education system syllabus. Therefore, if you speak English (we can guess so if you are reading this) or any other languages (the more the better), it will be much easier for you to travel, work, and have fun. Chances are, you may choose between joining a volunteering organization or searching for education companies. Either way you will have the opportunity to explore new cultures, meet lots of people, and get the best memories back.

Have drinks for free: be a bartender

Let’s be honest: drinking is fun. Do you want more fun? Drinking for free, and, on top of that, getting paid. Yes. You are reading well. Bartenders are usually good drinkers. This does not mean, however, that you have to be a good drinker to be a bartender. But you like drinking, you will certainly have fun on this job. There are several ways to get such a job. One is arriving in a destination of your like and immediately start looking for clubs and bars zones. There will be at least one place that is looking for a bartender, and you know that it does not require much expertise. In addition, another good option it to ask at your hotel or hostel front desk person if they need a bartender in their bar or restaurant. Usually, hotels’ and hostels’ managers offer this job in exchange of a free bed every night. So there you have an extra tip.

There are lots of jobs that get along with travel and fun. Here you have read just a few of them. You will find out more on our page later on. For now, you can choose from the ones listed here and think of others.
