Go to see the world, and make some money out of it

All of us have fantasized at some moment in our lives about quitting our regular, 9 to 5 jobs, and see where the world can take us. A recurrent idea to do this is to sell all our properties, and begin our trips around the globe right away. But of course, this is not a realistic idea. After all, the amount of money that we can make in this way will probably be rather reduced, and at some point we will need to find a way to start making money again. Otherwise, we will look more like a wanderer than like an actual traveler.

Those who have travelled around the world understand that making money on the road is really important to fulfill their goals. It can be highly frustrating, for example, to start a trip, and not be able to finish it due to the lack of economic resources to make it up to the end. For that reason, it seems that the best option is in fact to find a manner to work while we travel, that is, to find some job opportunity that let us work and travel at the same time. One might be tempted to reject such an option as a mere dream, but no, it is really not just a dream. On the contrary, it can be your actual life, if you seize the opportunity. Because there are plenty of options around the world that will allow you to do exactly that―see the world, and have a rewarding experience while you do it. The following list will give you a brief illustration of such opportunities.

Teach a language

It is indeed true that English always appears as the most important language in the world. For that reason, if you have the ability to teach English, you will have a good chance to travel to some country, and participate in some English as a Second Language (ESL) program. But do not think that is the only option that you have in this respect. Other languages can also provide you with opportunities to travel and work. Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese are examples of languages that people want to learn in different parts of the world. So, if you are considering to travel to other countries, one good idea is to prepare yourself to be able to teach one or more languages when you get there.

Take lots of good pictures, and sell them afterwards

Probably one of your more cherished objects during all your trips is always your camera. You are used to take pictures to keep them simply as a good way to remember your adventures and experiences, and tell others how much you enjoyed your trips, and what places and people you had the chance to know. But perhaps you have not realized yet that thanks to the Internet, you also have a good opportunity to make money with those pictures nowadays. After all, there is a new wave of stock photo agencies, known as microstock photography, devoted to the business of buying photographs from a very diverse pool of sources to sell them later at prices lower than those of more traditional macro agencies. So, never forget to take your camera with you, but see afterwards what a microstock agency may have to offer you for those beautiful pictures that you took in your trips.

Work on a cruise ship

Believe it or not, you do not really need to know a lot about ships to work on a cruise ship. Your main requirement for the job is in fact that you do not suffer from seasickness. And the benefits are several, especially regarding your daily expenses, because you do not have to pay for things such as food and housing, and at the same time will have the chance to know people literally from every continent. Some positions that you may consider to work on a cruise ship are bartender, musician, dancer, electrical technician, sound technician, croupier, chef, kitchen assistant, waiter, and many others. It depends more on you than on any other thing whether this is the career opportunity for which you have been searching.

Au pair

To be an au pair is a really great job opportunity for those who are interested in making some money and learning a foreign language at the same time. Au pairs are domestic assistants from foreign countries who work for a host family, and live as part of it. Au pairs usually share responsibilities for childcare and some domestic housework, and receive some monetary allowance for their own personal use as well. Since the families who can have an au pair usually make good money, probably you will also have the chance to enjoy good food, a very comfortable place, and even perhaps some luxuries such as a driver or holidays in exclusive resorts.
