Digital nomads are a rising breed all over the world, and they are turning into an important part of the digital market, evolving into key players as entrepreneurs, teleworkers and digital nomads. Every year, there are more people interested in taking on this lifestyle, in some cases even with whole families, including children. You can even check out my previous post at Royal Holiday where we go over the best places to live around the world as Digital Nomad, to help you make up your mind as to where to set up your next home base. Being a digital nomad is not only something for young millennials anymore, but because it is becoming so widespread that there is even the need to open more spaces where these digital nomads can network and learn more about their lifestyle and particular businesses. That’s where the DNX or Digital Nomad Conference comes into play, turning into one of the biggest and most important events year round for digital nomads. This event not only allows them to network with like-minded individuals, but also to share knowledge, learn new ways to grow their business and find real-world tips for their digital nomad lifestyles.
This event, or better yet, series of events is designed to share know-how to people who are interested in taking on or are currently living a location independent lifestyle. Starting with successful online entrepreneurs as speakers and offering a unique opportunity to unite a community which may not always get the opportunity to meet up in real life. These speakers share not only their success stories, but their whole journey as digital nomads. By sharing their thoughts and previous experiences with other digital nomads they are truly helping others reach their maximum potential and laying the path towards success at their businesses. A big part of being successful in this online world is being able to count on a community that you can bounce ideas off of, share experiences and interact with about the lifestyle and the business you are developing.
The DNX is by far the top networking event for all digital nomads out there perfect for location independent workers and online entrepreneurs. It consists of four days, ten events, ten keynote speakers, twelve workshops and masterminds, and of course hundreds of other like-minded people. With an event like this you will definitely leave motivated and with the know-how necessary to get your business going and grow your online presence, while also figuring out the balance to do that while sitting a beach somewhere.
They also have something called a DNX Camp that allows you to co-live and co-work with other digital nomads and online entrepreneurs while getting started or refreshing your ideas. The next one this year will be at Lisbon, Portugal in September. All the tickets are already sold out to share their space at the Surf Office this year. While there the digital nomads will participate in activities that will inspire them, push their limits, teach them new insight to online businesses, allow them to network with the rest of the campers and of course become part of this community. The ones that have already passed have been quite successful with people leaving refreshed, with new ideas, and ready to keep moving in their digital nomad lifestyle. The most recent one was in Tarifa, Spain, where 10 digital nomads co-worked in a spontaneous get together. The participants even stayed in different locations, but all sat in on an amazing DNX Talk, and took advantage of this perfect location for digital nomads packed with small bars and cafés in a laid-back environment. It’s also a dream location for those who like wind- and kitesurfing, whale watching, water sports, and of course quenching the wanderlust in you by going to some of the oldest cities in Europe. Lastly, not to mention the ferry ride over to Morocco and the trip to Gibraltar, all while working and sharing ideas with other digital nomads.
At the main events you will of course always find Marcus Meurer and Felicia Hargarten, the founders of DNX, with their intro keynote at the very beginning. They are the living example of location independent workers and have done so since 2012 while travelling the world. In 2014 they founded the DNX event and continued to pursue other worldwide smaller events and DNX projects. There is the DNX – Digital Nomad Conference, which fittingly is done in a different location each year and the DNX Camps. All of the DNX Camps take place on tropical islands and main cities, all perfect for co-living and co-working with other digital nomads. Just watch this video to check out their previous events and the testimonials from digital nomads around the world as they explain what this event meant to them.
